Lei Exchange Ceremony

We were going to have a formal procession along the beach. All of us practiced our part earlier in the day. Your son-in-law, Rob was to lead, as the officiant. He spent four minutes on the internet, to receive his reverend status and four years to become a doctor. We joke about how to address him. He’s Dr. Reverend Debare! Phu was to walk with his mom. The grandkids next, and then Uncle Greg was going to “walk me down the aisle”, but it was too darn windy. We skipped the formality, and went right into the ceremony. In the beginning of the ceremony Ari and Josh put lei’s on us. According to Hawaiian tradition, leis represent “aloha”, love. It’s worn through the summers and winters, symbolizing the seasons and everlasting love. You know little Ari hands; he tore the orchid lei apart. The wedding coordinator skillfully mended it together.
