Chuppah, Love and Memories

Mom and Dad,
Anyways, it was a truly beautiful event. Simple. Surrounded by family. Do you see Uncle Greg and Cousin Ben holding onto the Chuppah for dear life? It was so windy there on the beach, we thought we’d all blow away into the blue ocean. We had to take it down because it started to rip.
Cousin Lisa and Aunt Arleen made the Chuppah. Isn’t it beautiful? Lisa sent all the family members a square to decorate. She and Arleen spent their Monday and Wednesdays sewing the quilt together. It took three weeks, and four needles! Esther included a picture of you two at your wedding under your Chuppah, over 43 years ago. Mom, you’re smiling and Dad, you have the army haircut I’ve always known you to have. Never more than a few centimeters high. Do you see your picture on the right side? This work of art, so many touching fabric pieces, is one of the best gifts anyone could ask for. Cousin Dan screen printed a rose on his fabric with the quote “…a Rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” It’s in honor of you Mom. It’s right in the middle, where it belongs, in the center of my heart. All your grandkids made squares too. Lots of hand-painted flowers!
Love always,
Debbie
