A couple of weeks ago Phu ate some melon and threw the outer part in the trash. It happened to be a hot day and feast for flies. We took out the trash when we noticed larvae crawling on the floor. Then we smashed the little worms, thinking it was all over. Two days ago a few flies appeared. At first I thought they were coming in from leaving the back porch doors open for the cats to go out, so I shut the door. Then we had eight more flies. I started shooing them out the door, but that took too much effort. Now, I swat them with a fly swatter. I swat one, and two more appear. I swat two, and four more appear. A strange phenomena. Somewhere in this house Buddha lives,saving all his precious earthly critters. Or maybe it’s God laughing back at me for my laughing when Phu told me how beautiful their eyes are.
